2014 RLX Driving Impressions

Although I've been to my fair share of these events, it's always exciting to make a trip to the mainland for a new car introduction. Due to the place this car sits in our vehicle lineup, we understand that many might not think this is a significant new launch especially if they're not in the market for a car at this price point. In my opinion, the RLX is important even if you're in the market for a vehicle in this price range because many of the features should "trickle down" into our other cars in the future.

2014 RLX Hand On Experience

We're just back from the dealer Ride and Drive but this post won't discuss any 'riding or driving'. Because the all-new RLX has not been tested by the automotive press, Acura has requested that we refrain from posting any driving impressions. We will have to wait until February 15 for that. Acura News Episode 1

Three Months with the Acura ILX

December marks my first three months with our new car and in what is becoming a tradition, I'd like to share my impressions after living with the car for a while. If you have read my earlier post on how we ended up with the car, then you know that this decision didn't come quickly or easily. In a perfect world I would have preferred not to be forced to replace our previous car.

Our new 2013 ILX

In an unfortunate turn of events, I have a new car. It wasn't supposed to work out this way, I had planned to keep my RSX much longer.  But, I momentary lapse in concentration had me rear ending a Toyota Camry on the freeway.  So, just like that, my Acura was totaled. When you looked at the damage, it didn't seem that bad.  However, once the airbag(s) had deployed, it was pretty much "game over" for that car.

ILX First Impressions

Our New ILX with Technology Package arrived yesterday and I've had a chance to look over the car and I wanted to share some of my initial impressions.  First, a little background. The Acura ILX marks a return to a small car for the Acura brand. Acura feels (and I agree) that there is a growing market for a fully featured car that is compact and easy to park, as well as good on gas.  Here in North America where a "bigger is better" mentality rules, the idea of high content compact car has struggled to gain ground.  However, with the rising cost of fuel and our ever increasing desire for more features and better connectivity, the time is right for something different.

The Avengers Pre-Screening Presented by Acura of Honolulu

On April 3rd Acura of Honolulu hosted a pre-screening of the new Avengers movie at the Ward 16 theaters.  About 250 lucky Acura enthusiasts had an opportunity to view this exciting summer blockbuster a few days ahead of the national release date.  Acura is the Official Vehicle of  S.H.I.E.L.D in the new movie and several Acura's were seen briefly in the film, including a quick look at a convertable NSX prototype.  Several were actually blown up, unfortunately, none were ZDXs.
