ILX Pricing and Trim Details

For the first time there will be three trim levels with three engine choices.  Back in the Integra days, there were RS, LS, GS and GS-R choices, but there were only two engines (not counting the limited production Type-R).  As a integral part of the new Smart Luxury philosophy, the ILX marks a return to a cloth seat option and for the first time since 2006, a car without standard HID headlights.  Personally, I think most clients are going to opt for the Premium or Technology Package, but you can look at the pricing details below and decide for yourself which suits you best when this goes on sale at the end of May. The prices below include the destination charge.

  • Base ILX
    • $26,795 - 2.0 Liter w/ 5 speed automatic
    • $29,795 - 1.5 Liter Gas/Elecrtric Hybrid w/ Continuously Variable Transmission
  • ILX Premium Package
    • $30,095 - 2.0 Liter w/ 5 speed automatic
    • $30,095 - 2.4 Liter w/ 6 speed manual (available only with a manual)
  • ILX Technology Package
    • $32,295 - 2.0 Liter w/ 5 speed automatic
    • $35,295 - 1.5 Liter Gas/Elecrtric Hybrid w/ Continuously Variable Transmission

ILX Base

The Base ILX is standard with the following features:

  • Keyless Access with Pushbutton Start
  • Power Sunroof
  • Bluetooth HandsFreeLink
  • Pandora Internet Radio
  • SMS Voice Texting with pre-programmed replies
  • 16" Alloy Wheels
  • Cloth Seating Surfaces

It will be available in two engine choices, a 150HP 2.0 Liter with a 5 speed automatic transmission or a 111 HP 1.5 Liter Gas/Electric Hybrid with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

ILX Premium Package

Moving up to the Premium Package keeps the standard features of the base model and adds the following:

  • Leather Seating Surfaces
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Fog Lights
  • High Intensity Discharge Headlights
  • Rear View Camera
  • Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
  • 360 Watt Stereo with USB connectivity and XM Satallite Radio
  • Active Sound Control
  • 17" Alloy Wheels

The Premium Package will be available in two engine choices, the 150HP 2.0 Liter with a 5 speed automatic transmission or a 201 HP 2.4 Liter engine with a 6-Speed manual transmission.

ILX Technology Package

Buyers choosing the Technology Package will have all the features listed above, but gain the following:

  • ELS Surround Audio System w/Hard Drive for MP3 storage
  • Acura Satallite Navigation
  • Acura Homelink Garage Door Interface
  • Note: The ILX Hybrid w/ Tech will use 16" wheels vs. 17")

I believe that it's an impossible task to provide every trim/engine/transmission combination but it seems like there are two omissions.  There is no way to get Navigation and a manual transmission and, likewise, there is no manual transmission available for the 2.0 or 1.5 Hybrid.  I suppose that considering the low "take rate" for stick shifts, it's a logical decision on Acura's part, but I still yearn for the opportunity to enjoy the engagement that a manual offers in more of our cars.

I can't wait to see this in person, I think that it shows a lot of promise as we begin to revamp the entire lineup. In the next few weeks prior to the launch of the ILX, I'll try to look closer at the "geeky" techincal items that we know about the car so watch for my future posts.
